Hand in Hand Parenting is Patty Wipfler's organization (formerly Parent Leader's Institute), not to be confused with Hand in Hand Workshops. They've been around a long time but only recently changed their name to Hand in Hand Parenting- they know a good name when they see it! This is where the Parenting by Connection Approach comes from, and where I recieved my certification. This approach is evident in all my classes but particularly in Building Emotional Understanding and the Tantrum Training. They have a great enewsletter that comes out every six weeks, with helpful parenting tips, articles from Patty, and stories from other parents of how it has worked for them, very inspiring! Larry Cohen's website. I HIGHLY recommend his book, Playful Parenting. It dramatically changed the way I interact with my children and the way I look at children's behavior in general. Larry has also recently written The Art of Roughhousing, available at Amazon mid May.

The Aware Baby

"The Aware Baby" by Aletha J. Solter, Ph.D. Great book about tuning in to your baby and recognizing just how aware they really are. Very practical with lots of user friendly research to back it up.
